Ukrainian president trails 2 main rivals in opinion poll

KIEV, (RIA Novosti) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko would not even make the runoff if Ukraine held a presidential election at the moment, the National Institute for Strategic Studies said on Thursday.
The institute’s poll showed Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko top with 24.2% of respondents saying they would vote for her, followed by opposition Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych with 20.7%.
Only 9.7% of respondents said they supported Yushchenko.

Israel’s Livni holding against Netanyahu

JERUSALEM – Tzipi Livni, the moderate leader of Israel’s ruling party, was holding her ground against hawkish rival Benjamin Netanyahu a day after she steered the country toward early elections, polls showed on Monday.

Barack Obama named most influential man in 2008

Presidential candidate Barack Obama has been named the most influential man in 2008. The Illinois Senator gained highest scores in the opinion poll by AskMen.com, which the website conducted online among 200,000 male visitors. The Los Angeles-based website is devoted to issues of fashion, habits and needs of the male population of the United States.
